Major Montgomery never deployed and will be the first to tell you that he was an average officer, however, he got to help the military in exciting ways, took care of his airmen and received high marks from his leadership throughout his career.

In 2018 Joshua and his family spent a year abroad and lived in 22 international cities on four continents. His experience living in residential neighborhoods around the world gives him a unique perspective on public transit, mixed use development, historical preservation and walkable communities.

Today Joshua and his wife, Kris Adair, operate Guard Well Farm on 5 acres of land in Holualoa. He serves as the President of the Ohana Aina Association where he advocates for local families that depend on vacation rentals.  He is also the Founding Partner of the Ohana Aina Fund where he is working to make housing obtainable for working families.
