Brittany Anderson for District 1

Sustainable Farmer, Journalist, Small Business Owner.  Brittany Anderson has the leadership qualities Hawaii County needs.

Aloha! I’m Brittany, and I’m absolutely thrilled to be running for Hawaii County Council in our beautiful District 1. My life’s journey has been a vibrant tapestry woven from diverse experiences, from the bustling world of publishing to the nurturing fields of farming. Each chapter has enriched me with invaluable skills and insights, fueling my passion for serving our community with heart and dedication. As a farmer and a small business owner, I've planted my roots deeply into the soil of our district. I stand as an independent voice, committed to positive change through understanding, innovation, and genuine care for our people and land.

My vision for our future is bright and centered on creating a more connected, sustainable, and thriving community for all of us. The road ahead is filled with promise, and I am eager to address these pivotal areas:

  • Neighborhood Infrastructure Improvements: Advocating for equitable distribution of investments to pave rural roads, repair condemned bridges, and assist in cesspool conversions.
  • Housing: Increasing affordable housing options through initiatives like a kūpuna property tax freeze, a permit amnesty program, and streamlining permit processing.
  • Clean Water for All: Ensuring the safety and reliability of our water through improved infrastructure, catchment water testing, and repairs to water treatment facilities to safeguard our 'āina.

These are not just ideas; they are steps toward building a vibrant, inclusive community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Incredible moments have shaped my journey, like receiving the Congressional Bronze Medal for Community Service, a testament to my commitment to making a difference. My diverse background, from sharing the stories of our island in Ke Ola magazine to leading teams in various sectors, has taught me the power of listening, understanding, and acting with integrity. But beyond the achievements and the challenges, at heart, I'm a storyteller, captivated by the beauty and resilience of our community.

Running for Hawaii County Council is an opportunity to write our next chapter together, one filled with hope, growth, and endless possibilities. Let’s embrace this journey with optimism; together, we can achieve remarkable things for Hawaii County. Join me, and let’s make our community’s dreams a reality.

Your donation, no matter the size, will make a significant impact. Together, we can work towards a brighter, more sustainable future for our community.
